Prairie Souls is a five-song chapter from Moon and Aries about space, connection, nature and the quiet places inside ourselves.

Across Beyond the Mirror, High Noon, In the Silence of the Hills, Alchemy and the Flower and the closing title track Prairie Souls, the transatlantic duo moves beyond conventional genre boundaries, bringing their cinematic electronic world closer to the earth.

Analog synths meet live guitar, saxophone and cello. Electronic textures live alongside organic performances. Some moments carry rhythm and movement; others leave almost everything behind and simply breathe.

At the heart of it all is the human connection.

Created between Canada and Germany and enriched by musicians from across the world, Prairie Souls features the expressive guitar of Peter J. Mitchell, the atmospheric saxophone of Hanna Marchand (Joko Magic) and the beautiful cello of Zara Hudson-Kozdoj. Their performances were played and felt by ear — human musicians listening and responding to one another across thousands of kilometres.

Jordana Moon's warm, intimate vocals and lyrics move through inner reflection, love, memory, city life, open roads, wide skies and the pull of nature, while Tom Aries' compositions and production create the landscapes around them.

The result isn't an attempt to follow what music is supposed to sound like now.

It is simply what Moon and Aries sound like now.

Warm rather than bright.
Deep rather than loud.
Organic and electronic.
Imperfectly human.

The journey ends with Prairie Souls, a title track that was never intended to stand alone as a single. With its earthy groove, vintage drums, guitar, saxophone and spacious production, it is the place where the preceding four songs finally come home.

Those words capture something at the heart of this chapter: the desire to step away from the noise, feel the air again and remember the things that remain when life becomes quiet.

Prairie Souls isn't music to rush.
